We arecurrently looking for those individuals who would like to help us plan and growour event in these key areas. We have tasks as small as a few hours amonth that can make a huge difference in our event and the money we raise forthe fight against cancer.

If you areinterested in helping us with our Survivor and Caregiver celebrations in theSpring and at Relay, if you have some new and fresh ideas to help us grow ourLuminary ceremony, or would like to help us celebrate, remember and fight backall year long we would love to speak with you.

Bring your appetite as Vancouver Ford will be this month's dinner fundraiser of Juliano's Pizza - $3 for 1 slice and beverage; $5 for 2 slices and beverage. Fundraiser moons and suns will also be available.

Each Rally Meeting this season will have a theme related to what our lap themes will be at Relay. This month is Wall-E, so bring your blinking lights and get started on gathering your Relay "costume" supply! We are currently looking for thoseindividuals who would like get more involved in our event and help us take our Relay to the next level. We have tasks as small as a few hours a monththat can make a huge difference in the success of our event and the money we raise for thefight against cancer.

If you are interestedin helping us with one of the many aspects of our Relay or would like to create a new element to our event, we would love to speak withyou. This is your Relay so come by and take an active role in how it takes shape!

How to participate in the Kick OffSilent Auction:

Just likeat the relay, you let us know you want to participate by:

1) completing the silent auction form(available at monthly meetings & on Relay website);

2) return your completed form to Sharon by 1.13.12 to belisted in the program and fax: 360.859.4502 or email: relaysilentauction.vancouver@gmail.com;we will take forms until the 18^th but if received after the 13^ththey won’t be in the program;

3) bring your item or basket (display-ready)to the Kick Off by 5:30 pm (or make arrangements with Sharon to have it picked up before the 19^th);

4) bidding will take place before and afterthe event;

5) bidders will be able to write acheck, use a credit card or spend cash, and then take the item(s) with them;

6) You (or, your team) will get creditfor the sale of your item ……… Your 2012 Relay Fundraising is underway …. Easy as 1 - 2 – 3!!!

Therearen’t many rules, but we do ask that you let us know about the item or itemsyou will have in the silent auction by completing the form prior to the event. This way we can make sure we have enough tablesset-up, etc.

Write to Fight Cancer: A Writing Workshop

Research has shown that expressive writing can be a meaningful tool for coping with cancer and may improve mental and physical quality of life. David Tabatsky, co-author Chicken Soup for the Soul: The Cancer Book, will help participants transform their thoughts and feelings into words and stories. This free, interactive workshop for people affected by cancer (survivors, family, and friends) will feature expert advice, writing exercises and discussion.
